BIBA is a word used to describe a decent/adorable woman in Punjabi.
BIBA has also become synonymous with quality Indian/Indo western wear clothing for women and its a Brand very very close to my heart. It is 14th MAY today and the world knows it as Mother’s Day. I may not be a big fan of such occasions but anything that’s got to do with mothers has to be special. So today’s post menu is Mother’s Day special, dedicated to my MA- my BIBA MA.
Mother’s are truly some sort of angels and I am not even kidding. They would know exactly when we are happy, when we are in trouble, when we lie or when we hide something… and you don’t have to say a word, they JUST KNOW! Also, if dads are Superman, moms are Wonderwoman who magically make everything better- a bad day at work, a bad meal, a messy room, a messy head. She would just make everything better. She’s by your side when you need a friend or an advisor and I honestly don’t know what my life would be without you MA, I don’t want to.
This mother’s day, I wanted to do something really special for my mom. I wanted to gift her something that she wouldn’t herself buy because you know how moms always say they have everything and don’t want anything. The only place I knew I would find the perfect gift for mom was BIBA. I adore this brand for its fine aesthetics and the fact that it has something for everyone, every age and every taste. I was absolutely right because the gift I found for her was something extremely beautiful and special.
Shopping at BIBA for mom was like an emotional roller coaster. I was apprehensive, I was over selective but I was also very very happy inside to be able to gift something unique to my biggest pillar of strength. Their friendly staff patiently helped me as I checked out the entire store to zero down to this one special look for mom. And then I had an idea. I thought why not make it doubly special and I also shopped for myself. Only this time I SWITCHED ROLES.
So normally its me who wears western clothes/fusion wear more often but this time I decided to give my mother a slight make over as I bought a bohemian maxi gown for her and an ethnic skirt and kurta for myself, both from BIBA. I stuck to her favorite color- BLUE for both of us. The look on my mom’s face when I gave her this outfit was PRICELESS. It was a mix of love, confusion, apprehension and also shyness. I think she hasn’t worn an outfit like this since her younger days. I was praying that she would actually wear it because she did love it but sometimes moms just don’t like to experiment a lot. But THANKFULLY she wore it and how!
My idea definitely worked as we both spent a wonderful day in our coordinated BIBA outfits, out in the mall where I took mom for an exclusive mother daughter date as people literally turned to stare at us. I could see my mom getting conscious of the attention her new, sexy look was getting and I loved when her cheeks turned red as my dad complimented her. It’s moments like these that make life worth remembering, right?
Thanks to BIBA, I could make my mom feel young and beautiful again. I think somewhere she had lost her will to make any effort on herself while being the perfect mother, wife and homemaker. I want to remind you MA, that you are also a woman first and you are BEAUTIFUL. We all are grateful to you for everything that you do and mean to us.
You are my world and I would feel extremely proud if I could become even 10% #JustLikeYouMom.
