India Couture Week (ICW) in association with Vogue conducted by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) celebrated its 10th year last week held from 24th to 30th July in the capital city of India. Famous designers like Rohil Bal, Manav Gangwani, Rahul Mishra, Tarun Tahiliani, Anju Modi, Monisha Jaisingh, Varun Bahl, Anita Dongre, Gaurav Gupta, Rina Dhaka, Anamika Khanna, Reynu taandon and Manish Malhotra showcased their collection ranging from cocktails dresses to cape tops with silver and shades of grey dominating this season’s Bridal wear.
Needless to say, the shows were celeb packed and sprightly with some gorgeous Bollywood stars as front row attendees and showstoppers. What are Fashion shows in India unless Bollywood celebrities walk the ramp for their favorite designers.
Let’s take a look at the creations showcased by the designers at the India Couture Week.
Here is a sneak peak of Rohit Bal collection which brought in the drama of monochrome KUSH POSH with Arjun Rampal and Sunil Sethi.
Outfits created by Rahul Mishra were mostly hand embroidered and gave a glimpse of shimmer in white and gold. They were inspired by a kind of French art work and the collection was called The Pine Tree.
Varun Bahl’s creations were inspired by Chezh Art Nouveau painter and artist Alphonse Mucha’s masterpieces—like the Le Pater (1889), The Seasons (1896), and The Flowers (1898). He loves to play with roses and this time he reinvents the floral prints for this season. He brings in this season’s cape top theme with western cuts and patterns.
Sunheri Kothi was the name given to the creation showcased by Anju Modi in India Couture Week 2017 drawing bright colors from the land of sand “Rajasthan” with embellishment of stones in silver and gold. Anju Modi’s similar work was much admired in Bajirao Mastani.
Tarun showcased the outfits in which the models walked the ramp looking nothing less than Princesses. The designer focused on delivering the delicate embroidery work with classic pieces at the India Couture Week 2017.
The stunning Aditi Rao Hydari looked picture perfect in designer Gaurav Gupta’s creation.
The yoga star of India, Shilpa Shetty looked gorgeous in this Banarasi silk high slit gown as she walked the ramp for Monisha Jaisingh
The sizzling, young diva of Bollywood Disha Patani, walked for Gaurav Gangwani in black ensemble blouse and Lehenga.
And finally, India Couture Week 2017 was closed by none other than Bollywood’s favorite fashion designer Manish Malhotra with young heartthrobs Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as his showstoppers.
